I've only been to KTP three times (1992, 2007, 2010), but I've stayed in all of the camps except for Bitterpan and Gharagab (because I travel by sedan, a 4x4 is too costly for this solo traveler). My favourite KTP camp is Grootkolk, not so much for the wealth of sightings but for the special ambience of the place. I also love the remoteness of Union's End, have now been there seven times — once in 1992, when it was a lengthy trek from Nossob, and three visits in both 2007 and 2010. So ...

In November I will add Twee Rivieren, Mata Mata and Urikaruus to the list.

Our first visit to the park was in 1998 when it was called Gemsbok park. There after we visited the park in 2002, 2004, 2006, 2007, Dec 2008 to Jan 2009 and the last visit in June 2010.

We stayed in the following camps:

Mata-Mata (2010)
Kalahari Tented camp (2006 and 2010)

I have stayed in all the camps....
and they all get for different reasons.

Each camp has it's own caracter. I have stayed in the following camps:
1) Twee Rivieren
2) Nossob
3) Mata Mata
4) Urikaruus
5) Kalahari tented camp
6) Kielie Krankie
7) Bitterpan

My favourite was Urikaruus but they are all nice in their own way.

Will be back again on the 12th Feb. When you going back Caracal?
