Not a good photo??? U have got o be kidding!!!!! BRILLIANT!!

And taken with a Panasonic FZ 27! So no looooong zoomlens, but quite close! 190 mm if you look at 35 mm equivalent actually.

And.... Taken last year, so it can be entered into the competition...

It is a great photo Dakka,

That's called EXIF information.

If you use for instance Irfanview you can view it by hitting I (Information) and then E (EXIF info).

Windows Explorer can also display it. Right-click on the image, Properties, Summary tab, Advanced button.

That's a super sighting!

Short story behind the sighting.

We were driving on the Confluence road at Shingwedzi when we saw the cub running across the river towards us; it was dry and must have been 100m wide. I stopped and shortly afterwards the mother appeared in the road not 10 m from us and promptly sat down.

Shortly after this the cub appeared and charged at its mom grabbing her tail. For the next 30 minutes we were treated to charges, stalking and attacking maneuvers that had us roaring with laughter. The cub would disappear into the grass and then suddenly appear stalking its mother, then charge and grab anything available. It would get a few cuffs and disappear into the grass again.

On a few occasions the mother would stalk it and as she got near would bounce forward and land with stiff front legs, the cub would charge out and run down the road before returning with yet another attack.

Suddenly the cub took off at full speed back across the river with mother desperately chasing after it.

During all this time about 5 kudus were standing in the dry river bed barking their heads off.

It really was special and very entertaining.
