Interesting pix... My first impression is that it is a young bird, black cuckooshrike. Apart from that I'll need to do lots of research to back up what my gut-feel is...

I'm keen to seen what other opinions come up

I'm not quite sure what to make of the first one. My first thoughts were Bushveld Pipit but those were just fleeting thoughts :wink: , I think JvR might be closer to the truth.
