Thanks Johan. No. 8 of Challenge #16 was pure stupidity from my side! :redface: I would never be able to identify No. 7.

I will start with No. 8 of Challenge #17 - because it is the cutest little thing! :D

Johan, so much for a fancy new bird guide! There is nothing to match time out in the field. If I had known any better the Southern Black Flycatcher (did not even get on my radar - no mention of the paler morphs in either of my guides), Bennetts Woodpecker (it was the head plumage that I did not take proper notice of), Juvenile Fiscal Shrike (difficult - the picture in the new SASOL is small, but the text gives it away), and Southern Grey-headed Sparrow (I looked at this species, but discarded it) would have been less troublesome. A good lesson in looking properly Johan.
