Day 7
Morning Walk

The most anticipated part of the trip had finally arrived! I had waited soooo long  According to the weather....it would also be the hottest!
The early morning walk starts at 4:30, so I was out of bed at about 4.... nice early start. That morning, the walk was fully booked, and it was so great to see the variety of countries :) As far as I remember there were peple from Holland, England, Germany and Singapore :)

Our first sighting of the morning was a jackal and a hyena eating on a carcass. It was very close to where the cheetah from the previous day had made the kill, so we assumed it was the same kill.....We also saw a civet

On the walk, we saw some rhinos. It was absolutley amazing to beable to sit and watch them, without them knowing you were there! A feeling of awe came over me, as we sat and watched these beautiful animals

After a while, we stopped for a breakfast on top of a hill by a river. It was so cool to be away from civilisation in the middle of the bush  The guide also taught us many things about rhinos, plants and different spoor :) Along the walk, we also saw duikers, steenboks and many hares  Here are some pics....

Further along, we came across some vultures
As far as I remember, they were lappet faced vultures - it is quite hard to see them in the pic.

And so that was day 7, and our trip was soon coming to an end. However, we would still be rewarded with more sightings  Till we meet again

Finally I am able to post again :D :D :D

Day 8

This was one of the mornings where we did not go out early....... However, it was another extremely hot day!!
The previous night, my parents had a visitor in the caravan (thank goodness I sleep in a tent  ). A rat had entered by going under the pull-out kitchen and gotten into the cupboards.....It ate all our potatoes :naughty: :naughty: :naughty: And decided to try and eat the tomato paste :wall:

Eventually, we decided to go out for a game drive (also to use the airco  ) We really did not expect to see anything..... We went long the H10, and then along the S128. It was about 42 degrees. The veld was also wide and open, so it seemed the perfet area for cheetah :hmz: And so we were drivig along, when my mom was like "Stop!!!!" After reversing, we found four lions all asleep under the tree   After a while, one of the males happily lay on top of the females. However, this was not welcomed and a female snapped and bit him.......He then decided it was safer to sleep ont the ground, and sat down with a huff
