Maybe when we eat out we should change seats every half hour.

True, BB -

Either doing it your way next time (but always leaving food
and drink behind - now, that should be interesting )
or ask the restaurant to set up a square lay out for the tables.

Still it was a great night out!
Loved to meet some new faces Rookie, Rusty and RichardJ.
And were happy to meet up again with people we already knew - p@m & SO and BB & SO!

@ Lionspoon...it was great meeting you and Spots up at Kirstenbosch ...I am sorry that the birds didn't really play along though .... but at least the owl was in residence

Black Saw-wing
Black Sparrowhawk
Jackal Buzzard alongside what I am convinced of (when I look at my extremely “blurd” photo) is an African Harrier Hawk
Pied Crow
Eygptian Goose
Cape Spurfowl
Hadeda Ibis
Red-winged Starling
Cape Canary

We heard the loud-mouthed Karoo Prinia as well as the Sombre Greenbul.

Oh and let’s not forget the dove that we saw high up in a tree outside the restaurant…

Oh and the big butterfly that I was so excited about is called a “Table Mountain Beauty”

And I had such an amazing sighting of an African Goshawk on the way home !!!

Gee Caracal, with such an impressive list, I think I need to arrange a "meet" with you and Scouter in the garden some time.

Went yesterday and saw some interestingly coloured Sunbirds which I will post for ID. Didn't see ANY of the raptors......but then I am so unfit that I was probably watching my feet more than looking up while I slogged and huffed and puffed up the hill to the Protea garden!

Anytime Rookie...I keep telling you that !!!!
AND I know a few not so steep paths that can get you up to the proteas and ericas.....
I cannot wait for the aloes to come into flower..much fun to be had with the Sunbirds then. It starts off with "oh look at that gorgeous little sunbird" and ends up with " Why can that flippen @#$^%&*^%$ sunbird not sit still for a decent ............but loads of fun none the less !!!!

Rookie, don't be fooled. Caracal saw all of those birds - I have to pass on
two or three species.

I know all about that line...
