The first female was photographed on the Black eagle trial. She ran in front of me in the pathway once I stopped she also came to a halt so I layed down in the pathway and made a few shots. The other female was in the camp and a little more skittish.

The male was wary but I came within 2 meters when I took the second shot. He had a female with him but she ran off as soon as I approached the rock.

I always take a couple of shots at a distance to just get a shot and then take some more shots as I slowly make my way closer. That way you at least have some shots and if you manage to get real close you can always delete the first shots

Yes You are right it is rock Agama. It is part/species of it usually they come in more then 5 types i have one of the pictures of it. most probably it will match.

Belated thanks, brian, but I'm also puzzled, because I thought that agamas have a rather "spikey" skin and this one looks to be smooth skinned? :hmz:
