Yip I may not be able to go to Kruger for 2 long at a time, but I make sure I go often.

@cheetah and Gerhard Previously I was only working for a a year or so so my leave balance was quiate low and due to the fact we are forced to use leave in December I could only really afford weekends. Even know I would prefer to include a weekend, Leave on a thursday and return on monday would be an ideal trip for me.

If we are looking at doing this my tent can sleep 4, I have a trailer and a big gazebo

Spargish I also cant go to Kruger for to long and thus I try to go there once a month.Like you I also started at a new job, so leave is very limited. But if we can leave on the thursday and return the sunday would suit me better.

I also have a few tents ranging from a 2 sleeper to a 6 sleeper so tents will be sorted. And I have a bakkie that can load 1.2 ton so all the stuff the :littleangel: want to take along will be able to get there :slap: :wall:

Cool, coming back on a sunday would also be good for me. Where is cheetahkie, I think its time to get this ball rolling again...

Also I would vote for KNP as living on the eastern side of JHB its almost the same distance from my place to the south of KNP as it is to Marekele.

Considering that Thursday would not be a full day in the Park, and the trip is short, I would suggest Malalane! Accomm is also almost always available there :D Croc Bridge is another good option!
What do you guys think?

I would definitely agree, I would also add Berg en dal to the list. As much as I love Malelane when camping sometimes the noise from the farms can get a bit much.

What about dates and preferance? I am already in KNP for the week end of the 9th of August and the 29th of september. How does the 1st of November sound?

I will be making too much noise for you to hear the farms
EJ will come discipline me
The reason why I favor Malalane over BnD
1. Malalane will certainly allow us to put tents next to each other if needed. Because it is emptier, and it is designed as a campers camp. Whereas BnD might have our camping spots spread out across camp.
Let me know if I am wrong?
2. I dislike BnD for having to drive the S110 or Majulu route every time. Whereas the Malalane camp has those roads as options but you are not bound to driving them. Malalane has the luxery of quick access to the S110, H3, S114 and S25. And I have stayed in BnD where the S110 is quiet, and then you get very bored
3. There is far less traffic in the early morn and late afternoon when staying at malalane compared to BnD
have you experienced the same?

When I was staying at Malalane the noise from the other side of the river was not there at all. just a dog barking. Mainly the sounds of the hippos pierce through the night air. And the Elephant raiding into camp  have you experienced the same noise at Croc Bridge? Because I am keen for some S28 action

TR updated BTW 8)

@cheetah I have camped over the road from you and you dont make that much noise :rtm:

Well since we are allowed to have 6 people on a site im sure we would all be able to be right next to each other, also BnD has a really big campsite with really great perimeter sights. Even in the upcoming August pvt school holidays there are an average of 40 sites available at any time.

I also dont mind having to drive the Matjulu route as it is one of my favourite drives in KNP. I love the dam right in front of the camp as well.

At crocodile the only thing I remember hearing was a rooster :hmz:

Also given that pvt schools are on holiday for the whole of August looks like CB is ruled out. September is also a busy month for Kruger. The november week end I mentioned will basically give us availability everywhere

I made less noise than usual coz I spent all my energy kissing the tannies
Those are good points you have made 8) BnD is alright with me if we go in September. Although I have fallen in love with Malalane. I suppose it comes down to the other V's coming 8) If we go in November, then I still rate somewhere close to make the most of 3 nights! I would prefer Croc Bridge 8)

Good Evening everyone.

Sorry for being a bit unactive, but the reason to that is I am preparing for the trip. Really tired. Need a Good Nights rest.

Hope everyone keeps well, and have a splendid weekend

Morning guys and Ladies,

I would prefer CB as well, but do not have any reason for I dislike Malelane...
The CB area is just nicer for me, although I had some of the most splendid sightings from Malelane gate :wall: :wall:

Which ever it is... I will be there!
