I see that many people use Sandisk CF cards, is that because it's the brand or because you don't know any others? Or is it because the name is so much like SANParks?

You buy say a Sandisk Extreme III CompactFlash 8GB 400x for 48 euro, and think "That price DuQues quotes is nice, where does he buy it?". Right?

Well, wrong.... Have a look at this: Transcend CompactFlash 32GB 400x.
You expect it to be 32/8=4 times around 48 euro, so upwards of say 180 euro?
Did you know I can buy this card for a mere 59 euro? Just 11 euro more than the Sandisk one? For four times the space, at the same speed and still top quality?

Did I just set you to thinking?

DB, and I thought the prices I got here were high!!!

Sandisk 16 GB at € 44

And Transcend pricing?

What is the quality and speed like?

I've never had a problem with SANDisk, but have with own brand disks from a well known camera retailer her in the UK.

Speed and reliability is exactly the same as Sandisks offerings.... Well, if you compare 400x with 400x CF's that is. Or the 600's.

32GB 400x not available at Amazon. 64GB 400x is £129, 146Euro.

Thanks for this DQ, need to replenish my SD cards that went walkabout since last Oct.

Still, it is a good card and if it's a question of budget then the Transcend is definately an option to look at.

I'm quite sure the majority of my cards are Transcend. They've just always been cheaper on Amazon than the others. No performance complaints
