Morning of the 18 April..
We got up early to go to Unions End.
Saw these Bat Eared Foxes playing, was a bit far but managed to get a photo...

After a long drive....this very pregnant lioness was walking on the road...she was very tired...kept on lying down in the road for a rest.

Sat with her for a while...then we heard a lion calling in the distance...she got up and looked to see where the call was coming from...she looked a bit worried, then strolled off away from the lion calling...we think she wanted to find a place to go and have her cubs.
Further down the road we saw this male calling near the bushes....
.....might be her mate or might be a strange male that is why she quickly went the opposite direction.

Drove on toward Unions End....then....there in front of us was a pair of mating lions
We were the only car there.....sat with them for a very long time....


When he was finished he stood in the middle of the road looking at us.......

Guarding his lover....

After about 2 hours we drove off and left them in piece....
Got to Unions End walked around a bit...had some more coffee near the fence to the border of Namibia.
We then drove back to camp....
Found our lovers again...

Aah what a morning

Got back to camp for a nice lunch....
Sat the whole afternoon looking at the birds by our bungelow.
This bird was waiting its turn to go to the bird bath at the end of the railing...

This Lizard was also coming to see what was going on...


Sadly no animals at the waterhole in front of the camp Hope next year we will see more at the camp

Departure day...we were sad to leave
Left early as we had a looong way to Upington.
Saw the usual animals...Gemsbok, Springbok, lots of Wildebeest.....we did not go slow...the allowed speed...then we saw these two...the one was very grumpy...everytime we moved the car a bit closer he gave a stare as if to say "just come closer'....

This young male was also not in a good mood......we think they were on a war path to somewhere...

He gave me this look while I took a photo of him standing on the edge of the road...We very very close to him..

Left them after they strolled off into the thicker grass...
Then at the waterhole Bedinkt we saw these Lions, there were 3 of them...

Saw this Puff Adder...

At the last stretch of road we saw a Leopard in a tree...was a bit far but managed to zoom it in...


We were amazed at how many male lions we saw, and only saw 2 females....must be a lot of fighting amongst all the males in the park for females
Left the park wishing we had a few days longer
Oh well we will be back next year April
