I just got off the phone with my brother who is staying in Skukuza.
He was on his way between Pretoriuskop and Skukuza and stopped off at Kwaggapan, to see a huge herd of buffalo (he suggested over 500).
While scanning the buffs he saw 4 young male lions under a tree.
There was an altercation with the one, being severley bashed by the buffs, and the other three lions approached but were chased off by the buffs.
He says they have pictures and video (watch 50/50, he says!) so I will try to get those on here if possible.
When the visitors my brother was hosting showed the footage on the sunset drive, the guide thought the lion looked dead.
So if you are in the area tomorrow, go along to the pan. There may be some very satisfied buffaloes...
you know... down a lion, feel satisfied...
